Strahan

Strahan is the holiday port town of the West Coast of Tasmania, located on the Northern end of Macquarie Harbour, the second largest natural harbour in Australia.  Strahan, established in the late 1870’s was once a bustling industrial centre servicing the mining and pining industries, but is now renowned as the access and accommodation base for the Gordon River wilderness World Heritage area and the pristine environment for the aquaculture industry’s production of  salmon and trout.  Strahan accommodation hotels and villas provides a base for all to experience the many visitor experiences for all the family, where you may visit the surviving  remnants of Gondwana Land, the Sarah Island penal settlement and discover the exploits of our mining, pining and maritime history.
